The Next Phase with Steve Kee
Episode 31: The Next Phase with Steve Kee: Agota Gabor, presentation and media pro and now author
After a long career in communications, she has decided to put her experiences into a handbook: ‘Public Speaking – Presentations - Media Interviews – Helping you Succeed’, and it is available on Amazon.
This handbook offers a toolkit of techniques you can use to become a natural and successful communicator. From wearing the right clothes to delivering a clear message, from how to stand to what to do with your hands, from how to give a good job interview in person or on the Internet, to learning to shine in the media spotlight, this book provides the techniques required to succeed
Agi, spent her childhood as a ballet rat at the Budapest Opera House, came to Canada with her mother after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. In 1969 she got her Journalism degree from Ryerson and went to work for CBC Television. Starting as a script assistant, then researcher, then story editor and finally producer. Her first job in PR was in Hong Kong, at the beautiful Mandarin Hotel, doing publicity for visiting Heads of State and celebrities.
Back in Toronto, Agi started the Gabor Group. In 1981, it was the first Canadian company to offer Media Training and Presentation Skills as its key service. During the last 35 years, the Gabor Group grew to become a full service communications company.
